Minstrel Magic and Select Sound
Auditions for the 2021-2022 school year are quickly approaching. complete the form below to sign up to audition. Carroll Show Choir Auditions will be held at the middle schools this year for those entering 9th grade and at CHS for those entering 10-12 the grade.
Please prepare 1-2 minutes of a song that best suits your voice. This can be a Disney , Broadway or popular Song. You may sing with a recording or without. There will be a piano available for those who would prefer live accompaniment. You will be emailed a video of a choreographed dance. Learn the dance before the audition. You will be asked to record this dance and send it to us prior to your audition. Information regarding how to do this will be emailed to you once you sign up.
During your vocal audition we will also be asking for small groups of singers to come in together to do some voice matching exercises. This is nothing that you have to prepare for.
All students please be aware that your measurements will be taken at the time of audition. This ensures that if you are selected for one of the groups we are able to begin selecting costumes immediately.
Results from the audition will be posted on this site and will be emailed to all that auditioned. In addition postings will be made at both middle schools and CHS. Once you are selected for a group we will send the list of group members to the guidance department and they will make a class switch for you. You may receive an email or call to make further changes to your schedule once this switch is made. Remember that you always have the option to do classes in summer school and online which often frees up your semester schedule to allow for multiple electives.
If you are selected for a group the first meeting of the 2021-2022 group will occur on Tuesday, June 1 at 6:30pm in the CHS Large Auditorium. A parent representitive and all students are required to attend this meeting. At this time your deposit of $300.00 is due in order to secure your spot in the group. Members who have a credit on their account may use their credit for subsequent payments, but must pay the initial deposit by June 1.
